Appointments for International Students
F-1 Student In-Person Advising
These in-person appointments are with the first available IS Advisor for F-1 SSN On-Campus Employment signatures and general questions and topics. Please make a virtual appointment with your dedicated IS Advisor for specific questions.
New students should wait to apply for their SSN until after the first month of the semester.
*F-1 travel signature requests and CPT/OPT applications are strictly processed by email. Please email your IS Advisor.
These appointments are held at the Office of Global Services (Car Barn, 140).
Advisor-Specific Virtual Advising
F-1 and J-1 Students: make a virtual appointment with your dedicated IS Advisor at the Main Campus, Medical Center, or School of Continuing Studies.
Students in the below programs should make an appointment with Anka Dadarlat, Karen Epps, or Patrick Frazier until their new advisor is assigned:
– Bachelor’s programs in the College, School of Foreign Service, School of Nursing, School of Health, and visiting students from the GU-Qatar campus
– Post-Baccalaureate Certificate programs
– Master’s in: Addiction Policy and Practice, Computer Science, Data Science and Analytics, Epidemiology, Global Health, Health and the Public Interest, Math and Statistics, and Nursing)
These appointments are held on Zoom.
SCS In-Person Advising
These appointment slots are reserved for SCS international students. If you are not an SCS student and you book one of these appointments your booking will be canceled.
These appointments are held at the School of Continuing Studies (640 Massachusetts Ave NW, Washington, DC 20001).
J-1 Student In-Person Advising
These appointments slots are reserved for J-1 Students. If you are not a J-1 Student and you book one of these appointments your booking will be canceled.
These appointments are held at the Office of Global Services (Car Barn, 140).
