Overseas Entities & Presences
Georgetown’s schools, faculty, and administrators are increasingly conducting operations around the world. Global activities often involve a complex array of university policies, ranging from travel and safety to tax and finance. OGS provides information and guidance on relevant policies and the effective development and execution of operations worldwide.
Georgetown currently has overseas entities and presences in the following locations:
Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q)
As Georgetown’s leading global campus located in Qatar, GU-Q offers a bachelor of science in foreign service, an executive master’s program in diplomacy and international affairs, and customized professional development programs for public and private sector entities.
Center for Transnational Legal Studies (CTLS)
CTLS, located in London, United Kingdom, hosts students and faculty from its 21 partner law schools for semester-long stays, and organizes various conferences and events. Georgetown Law is one of the founding members of the consortium.
Villa Le Balze (VLB)
Villa Le Balze, located in Fiesole, Italy, hosts undergraduate Georgetown students every fall, spring, and summer term. Each year the Villa also invites Georgetown faculty members to serve as faculty in residence and/or to host academic conferences and events.
Georgetown SFS Asia Pacific (GSAP)
As the School of Foreign Service’s branch location in Jakarta, Indonesia, GSAP is committed to addressing the pressing challenges of the Global South and the Asia Pacific through cutting-edge research and academic programs.
Georgetown Dubai
As the McDonough School of Business’ branch location in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Georgetown Dubai offers an executive MBA program and a master’s in international business and policy program (jointly with the School of Foreign Service) for emerging and established leaders in the region.
Center for Global Health Practice and Impact (CGHPI)
Based in the Medical Center, CGHPI aims to improve health outcomes through the generation and translation of scientific evidence into policy and practice. CGHPI’s global team serves in countries including Botswana, Cameroon, Eswatini, Haiti, Kenya, and Nigeria.
Georgetown University Representative Office in Rome
The Rome Office supports academic collaborations and coordinates outreach to the Vatican and other institutions based in Rome and Italy. The office is located at Villa Malta, home to the leading Jesuit journal, La Civiltà Cattolica.
Georgetown University Initiative on Innovation, Development and Evaluation (gui2de-East Africa)
gui2de-East Africa focuses on rigorous research with policy engagement to evaluate interventions, build capacity, and generate insights that inform decision-making and drive impact. Its office in Nairobi, Kenya serves as the initiative’s hub in the region.
Earth Commons Greece (ECo Greece)
Located in Athens, Greece, ECo Greece is a global extension of Georgetown University’s Earth Commons Institute. As a hub for environmental and sustainability innovation, research, and education, ECo Greece aims to support solutions to pressing issues in Greece and the Mediterranean while fostering global partnerships and interdisciplinary collaboration.
